Just a couple of weeks from now, some the league’s best players or at least the popular ones, will head to Southern California for the 2010 MLB All Star Game. The games leading into the break can sometimes set the tone for the second half of the season, and also cause some teams to take action and make moves to better themselves. This week is the first to follow inter-league, which means many teams are stacked up against division rivals, which makes that much more important.

Some of the top rivalries in the league, whether a newly acquired hatred or long-standing one, took the field this week including the Minnesota Twins and Detroit Tigers battling for the top spot in the American League Central, and the Los Angeles Dodgers and San Francisco Giants continuing their feud for the league’s most competitive division, the National League West.
