After winning a league-high 24 starts, it’s no surprise to see Detroit Tigers‘ RHP Justin Verlander named the 2011 American league Cy Young Award winner. Dominating his opponents, Justin Verlander went for the pitchers version of the “Triple Crown” with 250 K’s, a 2.40 ERA and a 24-5 overall record. By far the most complete season of his career, Verlander has also become a strong candidate for the American league MVP Award.
