Today the latest shoe in the 26-year line of Jordan shoes launches. As is the case every year, the latest of the numbered Jordan series pushes the envelope of what is possible when it comes to basketball shoes. The Air Jordan 2011 takes this to a whole new level.
This year’s Jordan gives you the choice of two completely different feelings due to the design that allows the change of midsoles. You can choose from the “Be Explosive” Max Air cushioning or “Be Quick” Zoom Air cushioning. Every pair comes with a set of each midsole and matching insole to go with it. If you’ve been keeping up with our Sneaker Watch coverage, you’ve probably seen Dwyane Wade wearing either the black patent finish, or the black and white colorway he’s wearing on this upcoming Eastbay catalog cover.
Of course the Jordan line wouldn’t be what it is today without style, and the 2011 is top-notch in that department. Jordan Brand decided on a one-piece, handcrafted premium leather for the upper that is completely unique on each pair of shoes. A translucent outsole runs the full length of the bottom of the shoe, and the shoes sport a plush inner lining. All the details and quality seem to add up to a design that is completely new, but doesn’t lose sight of the Italian dress shoe-inspired designs of past Jordan shoes.
With Dwyane Wade taking over as the face of Jordan Brand and the Air Jordan 2011, he lands on the cover of the Eastbay catalog headed to your mailbox this week.
