Adidas launched the Nations Basketball Program in 2007 as a grassroots program to emphasize and focus on adidas’ core belief that real success in the game of basketball comes from playing as a team. The program brings together the top players aged 18 and under to create eight regional teams. Each team participates in a training and educational activities to aid the athletes in taking the next step in their career. The players train to compete in an international exhibition under the coaching and direction of experienced NBA veterans of both past and present.
Each year the players are given some exclusive adidas for participating in the event. Last year, it was the TS Commander LT, and this year the TS Heat Check has been treated with the black and gold that has become synonymous with the Nations program. Adding some extra style to this colorway is the 2010 Nations graphic on the heel and a black patent synthetic material for extra shine. The TS Heat Check features breathable mesh and heat-sensitive material on the upper. A couple of adidas key technologies also make the TS Heat Check a new style worth checking out. The adidas Torsion system gives them midfoot stability and integrity, and adiPRENE aids forefoot propulsion and efficiency.
