For the first time in his young career, Chicago Bulls point guard Derrick Rose has all eyes watching him. While much was made of the Miami Heat’s superstar duo of LeBron James and Dwyane Wade, Lakers shooting guard Kobe Bryant and Oklahoma City scoring champ Kevin Durant, it was the mild-mannered Rose that snuck in and walked away with league MVP honors last season. With that achievement comes a new level of expectations, and no player is working harder to live up to them than the man they call “Pooh.”
After being named MVP, there’s also a high level of anticipation for Derrick Rose’s new adidas basketball shoes, the adiZero Rose 2. The new Rose shoe features SprintWeb and mesh construction, lace support panels, SprintFrame for additional stability, a well-cushioned EVA midsole and a re-tooled outsole with an all-new Lava Cilia traction pattern, reminiscent of the way Rose’s speed boils over on the court.
Though not officially due out until next Tuesday, you can reserve your pairs of the adidas adiZero Rose 2 at Eastbay today. Both the home and away Bulls colorways are available, the shoes that Derrick will be wearing on the court when we hopefully see the season tip off later this fall.
Take a closer look at photos of both shoes, as well as a video of Derrick talking about the Rose 2 below.
