About 12,000 of the athletes competing at the AAU Junior Olympic Games are in track & field events. To qualify for the AAU Junior Olympic Games, these athletes must complete a rigorous qualification process, beginning with district and regional meets. They are truly the nation’s best.
Each AAU Junior Olympic Games begins with the Celebration of Athletes. Bringing to life AAU’s dedication to sportsmanship, competition, and the desire to win, this year’s Celebration of Athletes featured track & field legend Carl Lewis. Lewis lit the AAU Junior Olympic Games torch and motivated athletes to give their all during the 12-day event.
