Nike’s Air Max line is one of the most storied and loved series of running shoes. From its inception in 1987 with the Air Max 1, the line was both head-turning and performance oriented, making it the perfect combination for runners both competitively and casually.
In 1990, Nike released the Air Max 90 with one of the most noticeable details once again being the visible Air Max unit in the heel area of the shoe. To make the iconic window stand out, they surrounded the classic cushioning element with an accent panel that would be the host of a variety of bright colors throughout the inaugural year of the Air Max 90. This summer, the timeless shoe returns again in a number of colorways, one of which being a combination of Black, Grey and Varsity Maize. The yellow hue of the Varsity Maize is used to highlight the visible Air bubble in the heel, and without even seeing the entire shoe, lets you know what silhouette this is even a few weeks before it becomes available.
