Hundreds of pro-football prospects began arriving in Indianapolis Wednesday for what they hope will launch them into their careers: the 2014 Combine. Participants undergo a variety of physical and mental tests through the weeklong event.

The event’s premier sponsor, Under Armour, outfitted participants head to toe in the latest football and training performance gear. Prospects gear up in UA compression, shorts, jackets, and footwear as they prepare for their bench press, sprinting, and jumping events.

Friday was full of festivity as 900 reporters descended on Lucas Oil Stadium for media day. Print, broadcast, and online journalists from across the nation packed the atrium to interview players, coaches, scouts, and even each other during the weekend described as second only to February’s football finale.

Eastbay is represented at the event this year, gathering information for aspiring elite athletes on top gear and performance tips. Dozens of league hopefuls stopped by the Eastbay suite to share how they Prepare To Win, including North Carolina OL Russell Bodine, who had the fifth-most reps on the bench press since 2006. He pushed his strength and stamina to the limit, knocking off 42 reps. Bodine is one of only around a dozen able to complete more than 40 reps since 1999.

Events continue through the weekend. Follow along by connecting with Eastbay on Instagram and Twitter.
