Are the Seattle Seahawks a contender in the NFC? The smart money was always on ‘yes,’ but as the old saying goes, “If you don’t know, now you know.”
In a Sunday afternoon meeting with the division rival Arizona Cardinals, the Seahawks played their best game of the season. Dominant on both ends of the ball, Seattle routed Arizona in a laugher, winning the game by a score of 58-0. With the win, the ‘Hawks moved to 8-5 and control their own playoff destiny.
Statistically speaking, it was Marshawn “Beast Mode” Lynch that led the charge on offense, carrying the rock 11 times for 128 yards and 3 touchdowns. Defensively, cornerback Richard Sherman and linebacker Bobby Wagner each had two interceptions to help shut down John Skelton and the Cardinals.
In other key Week 14 games, Robert Griffin III and Kirk Cousins teamed up to help the Washington Redskins hold off the Baltimore Ravens; the Dallas Cowboys came back against the Cincinnati Bengals in the fourth quarter to keep their playoff hopes alive; Andrew Luck and the Indianapolis Colts topped the Tennessee Titans with another fourth quarter rally; Adrian Peterson’s ground game carried the Minnesota Vikings past the Chicago Bears to keep the team in the playoff hunt; Eli Manning and the New York Giants hung 52 points up on the reeling New Orleans Saints; Aaron Rodgers paced the Green Bay Packers past the Detroit Lions; and the New England Patriots dismantled the Houston Texans in a disappointing Monday Night clash of titans.
