Cover Athlete Interview // Paul George of the Indiana Pacers

words // Brandon Richard

Who’s the NBA’s next big superstar? There’s a wealth of young talent making an impact in the league today, but Indiana Pacers’ swingman Paul George is poised to carry the torch passed to him by LeBron James in last year’s Eastern Conference Finals. If there is a team with the make-up to dethrone the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference, it’s the Pacers, and George is the young star leading the way.

Off to the best start of his promising career, George is averaging 24.3 points, 6.4 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.9 steals per game. As a result, the Pacers are an impressive 13-1, good for first in the East.

We’re excited to have Paul George as the cover athlete for the latest Eastbay catalog hitting your mailboxes this week. He covers throwing down a dunk in his game shoe of choice for the 2013-2014 season — the Nike Hyperdunk 2013. Additionally, we had the chance to sit George down for an interview, in which he discusses the skills necessary to take a player’s game to the next level, the strongest attribute of his game, his most important attribute in a game shoe and key focuses for the new season.

he’s the most talented player in the NBA. he can do everything on the court. doesnt solely rely on brute strength like lebron and can play both ends of the floor unlike KD
