Adidas has unveiled an all-new Lionel Messi signature collection of footwear and apparel, highlighted by the four-time reigning FIFA World Player of the Year’s first signature cleat. The Messi adizero F50 will be debuted this spring.

The Messi adizero F50 weights in at just 5.8 ounces, making it the lightest in soccer. Personalized design elements include his logo, name and mantra “give all for your team.”

“After setting a scoring world record and winning his fourth consecutive FIFA Ballon d’Or, Lionel Messi has truly earned icon status in the world of sports,” said Ernesto Bruce, Director of Soccer for adidas America. “We are proud to celebrate Messi’s accomplishments with a signature collection showcasing technology and design that mirror his ferocious speed and natural, fluid style of play. The adidas Messi collection brings together the best in performance technology with world class design.”

Representing the danger Messi poses on the pitch, his fiery passion for the game and personal favorite color, red links up with white on the adiZero F50. The clean white frame of the cleat symbolizes the lightness of his adizero F50 and Messi’s movements which complement the speed-inspired graphics that represent his quick pace. A single red stud on the sole stands out amongst 10 white studs to represent Messi alongside his teammates and his philosophy of only being as strong as the team around him. His name and logo appear on the cleat and “give all for your team” is printed along the insole.

The adizero F50 Messi highlights a full performance collection, which includes a black and matte silver woven jacket, training jersey, short and graphic tee, each piece featuring his logo and mantra.

Lionel was involved in every step of the two-year development of his signature range, which included 10 major testing rounds and the analysis of his on-field movements. His input, personality and instincts led the design of the adizero F50 signature collection. Messi joins brand icons David Beckham and Derrick Rose in having a signature adidas range.

Messi’s adizero F50 cleat features a textured and synthetic SprintSkin upper designed to elevate performance in all weather conditions. SprintFrame adds support to the heel for stability in cuts and acceleration, while a new internal SprintWeb provides ball control at high speeds and a supple but stable construction for ease of lateral movement. The cleat is also micoach Speed_Cell compatible, helping players measure, share and view stats.

For players who compete on different surfaces, there are also different variations of the new Messi cleat. The F30 and F10 TRX FG are modified versions, while the F10 IN is playable on indoor surfaces and the F10 TRX TF is built for artificial turf or hard surfaces.

The Messi signature adizero F50 collection will be available in early March, but fans can pre-order the new adidas soccer cleats today.
