Earlier this month, the Alamodome played host to the 2013 U.S. Army All-American Bowl, featuring some of the nation’s top high school football talents. Behind Louisville standout James Quick’s 71-yard, one touchdown performance, the East team was able to outlast the West and win by a score of 15-8.
Along with special TECHFIT uniforms, game outfitter adidas issued players All-American Bowl colorways of the brand new adizero 5-Star and adizero 5-Star Mid cleats. The cleats are primarily decked out in Vivid Yellow with strong black and titanium accents.
Lighter than last time, the adizero 5-Star tips the scale at 6.7 ounces in a low and 7.4 ounces in the mid. Inspired by adidas Prime track spikes, the upper is constructed with SprintSkin II. The SprintWeb support frame provides stability during changes in direction. SprintFrame and a molded PU sockliner enhance comfort. Foot is locked in places with a heel cup, while triangular TraXion studs provide acceleration and straight-away speed with multi-directional grip on cuts.
To celebrate the 2013 U.S. Army All-American Bowl, adidas has released a limited run of the adizero 5-Star 2.0 in both cuts. You can grab these adidas football cleats here today.
