Real Madrid was among the many international teams that made their way to the United States recently for the Herbalife World Football Challenge. Of course, as is often the case when teams from overseas play against MLS teams, Americans realize how far we have to go before having truly world class soccer here in the United States. Nevertheless, it gives fans a rare chance to check out their favorite players from around the world.
And if you’re David Beckham, you get the chance to play against your former team, and their new superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo. Beckham, who added another child to his family just weeks ago, was sporting a new pair of adidas soccer cleats with the names of each of his children stitched into the white leather.
The World Football Challenge will continue on with matches of the next few days and a final match with the MLS All-Stars taking on Manchester United.
