Sneaker Watch: WNBA 2nd Half Gets Underway

WNBA second half begins.

words // Nick Engvall

After a weekend off for the 2011 WNBA All-Star Game, this week it was back to the hardwood for the world’s best women’s basketball players. The momentum that young star, Maya Moore, and the Minnesota Lynx carried into the break carried right over as they extended their winning streak to six games. Minnesota at 13-4 has the highest winning percentage in the league, just one win behind the 14-6 Indiana Fever.

On the losing side of the Fever’s latest victory, Tulsa continues to struggle. They lost their 12th straight and now, at 1-17, are on pace for the worst record in WNBA history, a mark held by the 1998 Washington Mystics, who went 3-27. Will they find a way to win 3 games in the remainder of the season?
