Sneaker Watch: NBA Finals Game 1

words_Nick Engvall

The Lakers showed why they are defending World Champions last night behind 30 points from Kobe Bryant and the new colorway of his signature Nike Zoom Kobe V. Despite the Boston Celtics being a more physical team, it took all of 26 seconds for Ron Artest of the Lakers to give Paul Pierce of the Celtics a reminder of who’s house they were playing in. Artest, the scrappiest player on the Lakers by far, got tied up with Pierce while going for a rebound both players got technical fouls, but more importantly it set the tone for the game, and the Lakers seemed to cruise to a victory. With the game easily out of reach, Kobe Bryant dropped in a three pointer with just a few seconds left to finalize the game 1 win.

Check out the footwear from Thursday’s game below.

  • wallaces forces are sick as hell btw

  • itzbilly:

Lol @ rondo’ s “layup” pic. Odom blocked the sh*t out of him on that play last night

  • Rondo’s Hyperfuse’s look sick.

  • AbnerP:

Loving Ray Allen’s Icons the most in this post. (not gonna lie tho Rasheed’s 1’s are crazy hot too)

  • James:

That is insane that Kobe doesn’t have his shoes laced to the top. He left off the top eyelet.

  • anthony:

if you watched the game on ABC they had a section where kobe says none of his moves are original that he learned from the greatest and thats why his style and game is on point so maybe he picked up the tongue thing there what ever i dont care as long as he keeps winning!

  • I’ve never even cared much for Sheed’s Forces – and those are clearly sick.

  • gochu44:

sheed’s AF1s are clean.. i thought rondo was with reebok??

  • Nene33:

@ gochu44, he switched I believe 2 years ago, after the Unheralded.

Really not much new stuff in the Finals this year, Sheed’s AF1’s steal the show.

I still can’t believe they went with a non-Lakers colorway for the Kobe’s SMH.

  • big boi:

kobe’s such an MJ copycat. i’d rather watch MJ. even if he gets 5 rings, magic johnson’s way better than he is.

  • J-ru/Dagger:

Don’t sleep on Sugar Ray. He’s coming with some fire when they get back in Bean Town, mark my words. Yea, I must agree, Sheed killed it with those…………………….

  • kurt:

Sheed got the hottest kicks on the court… does anyone disagree?

  • david:

    kobes not smart

  • cmoney:

what shoes are Paul Pierce wearing in game 7 vs lakers?

  • I am feeling Rasheeds kicks and Ray Allens kicks.
