Last week we gave you a sneak peek at one of the colorways of John Wall’s first signature shoe from Reebok. Building on the Reebok Zig Slash that Wall wore for the majority of his rookie season, the Zig Encore will be on John Wall’s feet for the 2011-2012 season, assuming the league and players can reach an agreement and end the lockout.

The most notable change from the Zig Slash is the use of the lower profile Zig Nano cushioning system. By lowering the cushioning and keeping the foot closer to the court, the Zig Encore should be a much more stable and faster basketball shoe to play in. Detailing on the shoe, like the new “JW” logo on the tongue and the number 11 on the ankle, make it well known that this is John Wall’s signature model. This colorway obviously is intended to go along with the Washington Wizards jersey colors, and features a combination of Blue and White.

Look for this limited edition colorway of the Reebok Zig Encore to be available later this year.

its for his UK days. #11 is his number at UK and its UK colors. Do some homework

obviously intended for Kentucky FANS, not players. Good marketing strategy considering Wildcat fans are nuts for John Wall.

Wall always wanted #11, but that jersey is retired in Washington. Also, due to the NBA lockout, doubtful anyone can sell jerseys, shoes, etc. with the NBA label. So, it’s a smart move on Reebok’s to do this. Play to the greatest fans in the nation, with those colors and his college jersey number. I, for one, will buy me a pair to wear with my #11 UK jersey!!!

P.S. Yes, UK is a NIKE sponsored school, and will be wearing the new LeBrons. But, that doesn’t mean the fans can’t buy these shoes.
