Since its 2008 launch, Kevin Durant’s Nike Basketball signature line has consisted of styles packed with heavy inspiration from his personal life. From his mother Wanda Pratt to his Oklahoma City Thunder teammates, every important element of KD’s life has been part of his sneakers at one point or another. Those intimate details also extend to colorways, including the brand new “DMV” colorway of the Nike KD V.
For those who don’t know, “DMV” is a regional nickname for D.C., Maryland and Virginia, where Durant was born, raised and groomed into the baller he is today. The “DMV” KD V is inspired by the flag of Maryland, represented by a Bright Crimson colorway with red, yellow and black accents to salute Durant’s home state.
Additional “DMV” details are hidden on the shoe’s outsole, illustrates Kevin’s road to stardom through a unique outsole, midsole texture, tongue quilting and heel counter details.
