Business as usual for Tom Brady in the Under Armour Fierce III.
words // Brandon Richard
After two weeks of preseason NFL action, we’re getting that familiar feeling again – the New England Patriots look poised for another run at the Super Bowl. After a 31-14 win against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, which included two touchdown passes from Tom Brady and Chad Ochocinco’s first touchdown reception with the team, the Pats have outscored opponents 78-26 in their first two outings. As great as they’ve been, the Patriots haven’t won a playoff game since 2007. Is this the year they go deep again?
New England isn’t the only team undefeated through two preseason games. In a surprising development in the NFC, your undefeated “division leaders” include the Washington Redskins, Detroit Lions and St. Louis Rams. Joining the Patriots amongst the ranks of the undefeated in the AFC are the Houston Texans.
Obviously, early preseason success is often misleading. However, teams like the Lions and the Rams showed a great deal of improvement a year ago. Should we expect to see either one or both of these upstarts in the playoffs this season? Only time will tell.
In the meantime, let’s take a look at some of the football cleats that hit the turf during Preseason Week 2 in today’s NFL Watch.
