This week baseball took precedence in the sports world as the Yankees and Phillies rolled through the first round of the MLB Playoffs and the Giants and Rangers took slightly longer to seal their places in this year’s League Championship Series. The San Francisco Giants defeated the Braves in Atlanta behind a strong performance from rookie Madison Bumgarner, then said farewell to Bobby Cox amidst their victory celebration. For the Yankees, they spent Tuesday at Yankee Stadium as they awaited the to see the Texas Rangers win their first post-season series in franchise history behind Cliff Lee. Lee pitched a complete game with 11 strikeouts to defeat the Tampa Bay Rays, for the second time in as many starts in the series.

Next up, the Rangers will host the Yankees Friday, while the Phillies will host the Giants on Saturday. Which team are you cheering for?
