Pink basketball shoes can only mean one thing. Nike Basketball and their partnership with the Kay Yow Cancer Fund is ready for a new design aimed to bring awareness to the world’s constant battle with cancer. Over the last few years a number have silhouettes have been used in this collaboration. This year, the Nike Hyperdunk 2011 and the Nike Zoom Soldier V receive the pink colorways and ribbon graphics that exemplify a noble cause.

If you’re not familiar with the Kay Yow Cancer Fund, it’s an organization that began in partnership with The V Foundation and the¬†Women’s Basketball Coaches Association. Yow, the former coach of the NC State Women’s Basketball team and the Gold Medal winning Team USA in 1988, battled breast cancer for over 22 years before passing away in 2009. Her positive attitude in her health struggles and on the basketball court have been an inspiration to many.

This year, Nike will release two silhouettes in partnership with the Kay Yow Cancer Fund. The Zoom Soldier V is the first to arrive and is available now. It features a White and Pinkfire colorway with ribbon graphics on the ankle strap. The Soldier V features Air Max cushioning in the heel and Zoom Air cushioning in the forefoot for a well balanced shoe according to our Zoom Soldier V Performance Review.
