Known for releasing sneakers in colorways representing some of Michael Jordan’s greatest on-court adversaries, the Jordan Brand serves up this Atlanta Hawks-inspired style of the Jordan Son of Mars Low.
In the late-80s and early 90s, Jordan went toe-to-toe with the Hawks’ Dominique Wilkins in games and slam dunk contests. Perhaps their most notable encounter was the 1988 Dunk Contest, in which MJ used his iconic free throw line dunk and a little Chicago home cooking to beat Wilkins in the final round.
Taking cues from the 80s and 90s Hawks uniforms, this Son of Mars Low is styled in red, with gold accents on the contrast stitch, eyelets, lace jewel and tongue lining. Black works the tongue, heel tabs and an elephant print rand wrapped around the heel, while red elephant wraps the toe. Below, a half speckled, half white midsole sits atop a gold and red rubber outsole to complete the look.
