Eastbay Memory Lane: Nike Running Classics from 1998

words // Zack Schlemmer

As you can see by the selection on this page, 1998 was a good year for Nike Running with this full line of great models.  Headlining their options for running shoes that year was the flagship Air Max model.  The Air Max 98 is often overlooked in the long line of classic Air Max Runners.  After the 95 (which already sees a retro release on this page), 96 and 97, the Air Max 98 fell a little short of the iconic design that each of the previous three years presented.  That being said, it’s still a great shoe.  Would you like to see the ’98 Air Max re-released?

Elsewhere on this page we see other great Air Max runners like the Air Max Tailwind II, Air Max Triax and the super dope Air Max Artemis. We go on to see even more heat with the Air Swift Triax and Air Perseus in its excellent Neon Yellow colorway.  With all the great models spotted on this page, the question arises of what Nike is waiting for with retros of their running catalog from 1998.  Which is your favorite?
