In their first ever BCS Bowl Game, the Northern Illinois Huskies will be outfitted in special adidas Football TECHFIT uniforms — also a first for the school.

TECHFIT features innovations that reduce the weight of the jersey by 30 precent, including a streamlined fit, new fabric, seam reduction and a lightweight numbering system. Players are kept cool with integrated ventilation zones and moisture management fabric. Reduced seams and a restriction-free, high-stretch collar design increases range of motion to support agility and speed.

On the front of NIU’s jersey is a new custom front highlighted by red “NIU” lettering and silver numbers on the chest and shoulders. The Huskies will also wear red TECHIFT pants, Red/White Team Speed Vertical Crew Socks and debut the Spring ’13 adizero 5-Star 2.0 Low and crazyquick Mid cleats in black.

Northern Illinois takes on the Florida State Seminoles in the Discover Orange Bowl next Tuesday, January 1 at 8:30 p.m. EST on ESPN.
