Last week, Chicago Bulls point guard Derrick Rose officially switched into the adidas adiZero Rose 2.5, his signature shoe for the second half of 2011-2012 NBA season. The new adidas basketball shoes feature a synthetic SPRINTWEB build, supported by a sturdy SPRINTFRAME chassis and a TORSION system for energy return and motion control. An asymmetrical midsole layout aligns with internal i beams, the angled geometry reducing ankle twists and making it easier to adapt to the ground. The high-traction rubber outsole features a multi-level cross section that increases surface area and helps limit dust build up.
One of the more understated aspects of the Rose 2.5 is the inclusion of a recess in the midfoot that allows you insert a miCoach pacer unit. This technology allows you to track your performance and training regiment, wireless transmitting the data to your computer and/or mobile device.
After being made available in “home” and “away” Bulls colorways last week, the Rose 2.5 has now arrived in a red-based alternate Chicago look. Sporting a Scarlet Red nubuck and SPRINTWEB upper, the shoe is accented by a black SPRINTFRAME chassis, white 3-Stripe branding and a white outsole.
