Derrick Rose’s signature model from adidas Basketball, the adiZero Rose, seems to have found a following that adidas Basketball has been searching for. The adiZero Rose received high marks in our recent Performance Review and as could be expected adidas has an updated version ready to take on the second half of the season for Derrick Rose as he leads the Chicago Bulls into the playoffs.

We won’t see the adiZero Rose 1.5 become available until early next year but that doesn’t mean we can’t drool over it now. The Rose 1.5 features enhanced breathability thanks to Sprint Skin technology. As we saw earlier in our Eastbay Photo of the Week, it also uses the company’s PureMotion Pods. The tongue subtly displays Derrick’s name as well as his initials “dR” blended nicely into the design. Noticeably different in the 1.5 is the ankle area, which will likely help reduce the weight of the adiZero Rose 1.5 while traction and stability from Torsion technology and PureMotion Pods stays the same as the adidas adiZero Rose.

That dR logo could use some fine tuning. I think it’d be better if his number was 8

Already coming out with a .5 shoe? The shoes look nice already, but i wish the tread pattern on the bottom was better.

Great first look, and don’t hate the Cilia Traction, it’s one of the best all round traction patterns around(better than your average herringbone, which has been getting way too much unfounded praise through the years, because there’s big differences in which herringbone you use, for it to be effective).

Definitely can’t hate on the cilia. It is some of the best traction I have ever had on, Nike/adidas/Reebok, whatever.

i really love this shoe, i actually didnt know about it until today when i went to his fan page ,im a huge DR fan and i have his adizero rose and when i saw these shoes, i was like drooling over the the new design compared to the old one, but i do think the material on the ankle part should change , im not hating on the shoes or anything but i just think it would have been better if they stuck with the old material on the adizero rose but with the 1.5 design cuz its so durable, i cant believe i didnt see the shoes till today , theyve been out for sol ong and whenver i see DRose playing bball in the matches , he seems to be wearin his adizero rose 1 instead of his 1.5s. I stay in malaysia and malaysia’s adidas sucks balls so it only came out with the DW Beast and the Adizero Rose 1 but in America, they’ve been selling both of their new and improved shoes since they first came out.
