This week, thousands of young athletes from around the country flocked to Houston to compete in the 50th AAU Junior Olympic Games. And Eastbay was there to witness the greatness.

AAU Junior OlympicsBringing together over 15,000 of the strongest competitors from 17 different sports, like wrestling, power lifting, track & field, baton twirling, trampoline, sport stacking, and much more, the AAU Junior Olympic Games foster and celebrates a wide array of athleticism.

About 12,000 of the athletes competing at the AAU Junior Olympic Games are in track & field events. To qualify for the AAU Junior Olympic Games, these athletes must complete a rigorous qualification process, beginning with district and regional meets. They are truly the nation’s best.

Each AAU Junior Olympic Games begins with the Celebration of Athletes. Bringing to life AAU’s dedication to sportsmanship, competition, and the desire to win, this year’s Celebration of Athletes featured track & field legend Carl Lewis. Lewis lit the AAU Junior Olympic Games torch and motivated athletes to give their all during the 12-day event.

Eastbay serves the dedicated, the driven, and the focused. The talented athletes of the AAU Junior Olympic Games are all those things and more, and with the continued growth of the AAU, the future looks bright for athletics. Eastbay was proud to attend the AAU Junior Olympic Games and have the opportunity to meet with some of these amazing competitors at our booth.

I would to know if you could follow my son who is a great competitor, and also a top athlete. He is #1 in 6 states in the Midwest nin 100m, 200, Long Jump. With those accolades his has placed hisself as Minnesota Athlete of Year 2013, 2014, 2015 and I am confident he will be named the same February 2017 respectively. Maybe when he is of age you could sponsor on the way to 2024 Olympics. Thank you!
